Special Needs

All children are special, but some children have physical, developmental, behavioral, or emotional needs that require special care. Raising children with special needs can be very challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone; we are here to help.

Here are some of the reasons we believe Whole Child Pediatrics is an outstanding resource for children with special needs and their families:

  • Accessibility.

We have handicapped parking spaces directly in front of our office. Our office is completely accessible for children and adults with physical disabilities.

  • Extended Hours.

We know that problems or questions are not limited to normal business hours. If you have an urgent question or your child is sick after hours, we are available to speak with you, and if necessary, see your child in the evening Monday through Thursday and on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

  • Convenience.

We offer same-day sick appointments.

  • Continuity.

Your physician or physician assistant works as a team with a nurse and/or nurse’s aide. Your team gets to know your child and ongoing relationships are formed, often lasting many years. Parents appreciate knowing the nurses they work with know their child’s special needs and that their children are always treated with compassion and respect.

  • Experience

All our physicians and physician assistants are board certified and trained in a wide range of pediatric and adolescent medical and developmental problems. We have experience working with pediatric medical and surgical specialists in our area or at nearby tertiary care centers and can make referrals and help coordinate care. We also have experience with the local school systems and educational programs that provide for children with special needs.

  • Excellence.

Our providers and staff are committed to deliver the highest level of health care and support for you and your family. We believe there is no greater privilege or trust than to provide care for your children.
