Calls During Office Hour
All patients are encouraged to call with any questions. The office staff is trained to answer most non-clinical questions, including billing inquiries. For medical related questions or problems, the staff is not able to give any advice over the phone.
If you have a medical related inquiry regarding your child, we’d ask to give us a call at (630) 385-2360 and leave a message with the staff. Your provider, the provider on-call or the nurse will return your call.
Please keep in mind when leaving messages during office hours that our priority is with the patients that are in the office. Thus, your call will be returned once a medical caregiver finishes seeing our priority patients in the office.
After Office Hours Call
If your child or teenager becomes acutely ill after office hours and you cannot wait until the next morning, the “on-call” provider will speak to you or return your call. Our phones are not answered after hours by an answering service, they go directly to the “on-call” provider.
The “on-call” provider will determine whether they can handle the situation by phone and see you in the office the next morning or whether it will be necessary to have your child seen in the emergency room.

Our Family
Our doctors have a wide variety of skill sets that meld into the perfect team of practitioners for your family's needs.
We have wide and varied backgrounds with different skill sets gained through years of training that will allow us to address your unique needs. We work collectively as a team to ensure that you and your family are cared for in the most comprehensive way possible.
We offer numerous approaches to providing care. Our doctors do not only look at the presenting illness, but look at all the factors that could have led to the current issues. We collaborate with you to fend off future problems by working with you in a preventative health care manner instead of following the traditional model of reacting to illness after you are sick.

NEW PATIENT
New Baby?
Congratulations on the arrival of your new baby! While this should be a joyful time, it can also be intimidating to care for a baby. You may be filled with first-time worries and wonders, and babies do in fact have health issues that are different from older children or adults. Thankfully, many of these issues are quite innocent, and you will gain confidence quickly in your new role as a parent. The pediatricians and staff of Whole Child Pediatrics want to guide you in this journey.

BILL PAY
We understand that dealing with health issues while also worrying about having to pay your medical bills can be an overwhelming and stressful experience. For that reason, we are helping to make the process easier with the creation of a Patient Payment Portal.
If your account has been placed in suspended status or you have received a final notice you are now required to fill out the credit card on file form with our office in order to remove the suspended status from your family’s account. Please note, it can take up to 24 hours for your payment to post to your account and for your account(s) status to be updated.
Does It Ever Make Sense to NOT Use Your Health Coverage?
1. When the deductible year is almost over and you’re a long way from meeting it.
Your annual deductible probably resets every January 1. Now if it’s December 10th and you’re a long way from meeting your deductible but you need to see the doctor, it might make sense to pay cash.
First, find out how much you’d have to pay out of pocket if the claim is processed through your insurance. Then find out what your medical provider would charge for the service you need if you were to pay cash. Ask if any discounts are available for up-front payment.
Paying cash can sometimes cost less out of your pocket than having the claim processed through the insurance company. Just remember, when you don’t use your health insurance coverage for a medical service, the money you pay out of pocket will not count toward your deductible.
2. When you’ve decided that you want to see an out of network provider.
With some health plans, out of network providers just aren’t covered at all. Other plans may provide you with a lesser amount of coverage when you see out-of-network providers.
Depending on your plan, if you’ve determined that you really want to see an out-of-network provider, there may be no point in having the claim processed through your insurer.
3. When you can find a better price for your prescription drug needs.
Some health plans have affordable copayments for prescription drugs. Others may require you to fulfill a large deductible before the insurer will begin covering drugs. If you’re facing a large deductible, you may want to consider paying for certain drugs out of your own pocket rather than having them processed through your insurance company – especially if you’re nearing the end of the deductible year.
Money you pay out of pocket like this won’t count toward your annual deductible, but certain discount pharmacies or discount drug programs will occasionally give you a better cash price than what you’d have to pay when the claim is processed through your insurance.
Finally, here’s that caveat:
The examples above are only examples. Decisions like this are personal in nature. We generally don’t recommend that people not use their coverage to avoid paying toward their deductible, but we recognize there are occasions when it may make financial sense. The fact is that you never know when something serious may happen. If it does, you’ll be glad for every dollar that you’ve already contributed toward your deductible already.
INSURANCE
Each insurance plan is unique. Many plans have limits and/or exclusions that apply to your child's medical care. We recommend that you check with your individual plan to find out what services are covered, if we are an in-network provider, and how much they will reimburse you for medical expenses. The office accepts major medical in-network PPO insurance. The best way to check if we are in-network with your insurance is to call them and provide our billing NPI (National Provider Identifier) number: 1346598190.
